Yadira Villalvazo, MD

Dr. Villalvazo is originally from southern California and a first-generation college graduate. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health and Humanity from the University of Southern California, and Master’s degree in Global Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. She completed medical school at the University of Arizona and stayed in Tucson for general surgery residency at the U of A. During this time, she also completed a research fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Plastic Surgery. She worked in the Adipose Stem Cell Center where her work focused on wound healing. Other projects included outcomes research and DEI initiatives. Dr. Villalvazo is interested in global medicine and health equity. She is very close with her big family, and enjoys spending time hiking, trail running and traveling.
