Tania Nong

  • Research Fellow

During her medical studies at Utrecht University in the Netherlands, Tania developed a strong passion for plastic surgery. She is particularly drawn to the field for its unique combination of creativity and precision. During her plastic surgery internship, she assisted in surgical procedures, participated in medical rounds, and took patient histories, gaining hands-on clinical experience. She is committed to personal care and emphasizes seeing the individual beyond the diagnosis. Currently, she is conducting research at UPMC with excitement while continuing to pursue her medical degree.

Tania is a strong advocate for inclusivity in medicine and is committed to helping open doors for underrepresented students, particularly those from low-income backgrounds or with limited access to educational opportunities.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys expressing her creativity through dance, getting lost in books, spending time outdoors, and challenging herself with a good cardio workout. Most of all, she values time spent with friends, family, and her cat.
