Mare Kaulakis is medical student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where she is pursuing her M.D. with a strong focus on advancing clinical care through innovation and research in plastic and reconstructive surgery. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Case Western Reserve University.
She previously served as coordinator of the SALUD group, where she organized medical student volunteers to provide Spanish-language interpretation for patients at the Birmingham free clinic.
Mare’s work is driven by a commitment to improving outcomes for patients with burns, traumatic injuries, and complex reconstructive needs. Her current research includes developing burn treatment algorithms and co-designing novel medical technologies.
