Joseph Banuelos Mancilla, MD

Dr. Banuelos earned his medical degree with honors from Universidad de la Salle Facultad Mexicana de Medicina in Mexico City, Mexico. Following medical school, he completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, where he designed and conducted clinical and experimental studies in general surgery and plastic surgery. 

He then completed his general surgery internship at the Mayo Clinic, followed by residency training at the University of Rochester and the Lankenau Medical Center (PA), where he completed his general surgery residency in 2025. 

Dr. Banuelos has a strong academic focus on clinical outcomes and innovations in reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery. His research spans breast reconstruction, cranioplasty, microsurgery, surgical education, and aesthetic surgery.

Dr. Banuelos has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications in journals such as Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Annals of Plastic Surgery, Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
