Gloria (Sihan) Hao graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in May 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and is currently taking a gap year before applying to medical school. She has been part of the Department of Plastic Surgery since April 2024, working as a student researcher on various projects under the guidance of Dr. Marra and Dr. De La Cruz. Before joining the plastic surgery department, she spent time as an undergraduate research assistant at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, where she worked on breast cancer research projects from the scope of cell cycle regulation.
Gloria has a strong interest in surgical oncology and reconstructive surgery, and is always open to discovering new passions along the way!
Outside of the lab, she loves traveling, free diving, photography, crocheting, and she's fluent in Mandarin. When she's not adventuring, she's probably at home hanging out with her two cats, Brownie and Misty!
