Gayle M. Gordillo, MD

Dr. Gordillo is a Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and Senior Medical Director of Wound Services and Pressure Injury Prevention and Outcomes for the UPMC health system. She is the Principal Investigator or co-Principal Investigator of numerous clinical and translational research protocols, which includes industry, NIH, and Department of Defense sponsored projects. She has been continuously funded by NIH as Principal Investigator since 2005. She is currently a standing member of the Arthritis Connective Tissue and Skin study section for NIH. She is a Trustee for the American Association of Plastic Surgeons. She is an alumna of the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine career development program for women.  She is a past President of the Plastic Surgery Foundation and served 5 years on the Executive Committee for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Wound Healing Society. She has served as a consultant to national and international companies working in the wound healing market.
