Daiki Kitano, MD, PhD

  • Post-doctoral Fellow

Dr. Daiki Kitano hails from Kobe, Japan, and has spent the past eight years as a plastic surgeon specializing in reconstructive surgery. Within clinical practice, his focus lies in facial nerve reconstruction, particularly utilizing autologous nerve grafts. Encountering numerous patients who complain of pain and numbness at the donor site of autologous nerve grafts, he has been seeking out alternative methods to autologous nerve grafting. Currently, he is engaged in research on artificial nerve conduits with Dr. Marra, aiming to advance the field of peripheral nerve reconstruction and enhance patient outcomes.

In his leisure time, he enjoys playing golf with his wife. With his two young children, he looks forward to fostering English proficiency and experiencing cultural exchange during their time in the United States.
