Christopher J. Fedor, MSc

  • Research Fellow

Christopher Fedor is a current medical student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where he is pursuing his M.D. with a strong focus on innovation and clinical research in plastic and reconstructive surgery. He holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from Northwestern University.

Previously, Chris served as coordinator of the Plastic Surgery Interest Group, where he organized educational events and fostered mentorship opportunities for students interested in surgery. He has also represented his class in the Student Academic Resource Consortium, advocating for improved academic resources related to curriculum and student research.

Chris’s research interests revolve around improving care for patients with burns, trauma, and complex reconstructive needs. He is actively co-developing several innovative medical devices, including a portable system for rapid burn depth analysis and a mixed-reality platform to enhance surgical planning for cutaneous burns. These technologies are designed to integrate seamlessly, using advanced imaging and visualization to guide treatment decisions in real time. Additionally, Chris is working to develop a novel device aimed at improving microanastomosis during free flap reconstruction, with the goal of decreasing rates of complication in complex microsurgical procedures.
