Pitt research makes veterans' recovery possible: After a bomb blast in Afghanistan destroyed Marine Sgt. Ronald Strang's leg muscle, an innovative trial by researchers the University of Pittsburgh helped his muscle regenerate. He regained mobility and continues to serve his country as a VA police lieutenant. Building on their finds, Pitt researchers are exploring new ways to help injured veterans and others.
